New in this version: An improved Setup program.
WinSpeech is a Windows based text-to-speech program. It reads text file and pronounces English words to the audio output. Although this program works with PC's speaker with a Windows device driver, a sound card is recommended for better result. The program also has a dictionary and tool for dictionary editing; online help; and some simple text file editing abilities. This version has the following enhancement to the Rev. 1.0 release (wspeech.zip):
1. DDE support - Allows other Windows applications to send text to talk.
2. Talking Coach - Report program status and other messages by speech.
3. Miscellaneous - Pause button, Undo button, ... and other minor changes.
Also, a setup program now comes with the shareware version. The setup program can install a internal speaker device driver for you if your system does not have a sound card. To install the program, run SETUP. The program will be installed to C:\WSPEECH unless you specify otherwise. A program group and icon will be created for you. The shareware version is limited to reading the first 50 words of a text file, text copied to the clipboard, or text sent via DDE link.
